It's no secret that in recent years, Christina Aguilera has fielded some rough comments about her weight and revealing wardrobe, but in a new interview with Lucky magazine, the singer speaks out about why she's completely comfortable showing off her bodacious assets.

"Actually, the challenge I've always had is being too thin, so I love that now I have a booty, and obviously I love showing my cleavage," she tells the magazine.

For others who are similarly endowed, Aguilera has this advice: "Hey, if you can work it and you can own it, that confidence is going to shine through."

As for the attention-grabbing outfits Aguilera rocks on "The Voice," she says, "I have always loved dressing up [and] being theatrical."

Of course, there was a time when Aguilera didn't call the shots when it came to her fashion choices.

"When you're young, it's so easy to get bull¬dozed," she tells Lucky, recalling a time when a pair of record label executives "always wanted to come to fittings and dress me up like a Barbie doll. It was disgusting."

But, life's tough times serve a purpose. "Difficult moments in life can either get you down or they can inspire you," Aguilera says.

Aguilera's fans can look forward to more of the singer's signature strength on her upcoming album.

"If you love 'Fighter,' you're going to love my new album," she predicts. "As a 30-year-old woman, I've been uncovering my independence, and it's been really fun to explore in the new songs."

Aguilera's as-yet-unnamed album will be in stores later this year.
