Schwarzenegger Memoir Promises 'Story You Don't Know'
Have you seen the trailer for Schwarzenegger's "Total Recall"? Not the 1990 movie - the book.
"Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story," Schwarzenegger's eagerly-awaited memoir, will be released by Simon & Schuster on Monday, Oct. 1. According to the publisher, in the book Schwarzenegger, 65, traces his journey from Thal, Austria, where he was born in 1947, to Los Angeles, where he moved at the age of 21. He tells how he became "the strongest and most muscular man in the world," as he says in the trailer, and then kept climbing his unique ladder toward The American Dream: millionaire businessman, movie star, major politician married to American royalty.
In 2011 Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, separated after being married 25 years. A week earlier, it was reported that Schwarzenegger had fathered a child with his and Shriver's longtime housekeeper.
Since then Schwarzenegger has resumed his acting career, starring in The Expendables 2. He and Sylvester Stallone are scheduled to shoot The Tomb later this year.
As colorful as his story is, it is well known. Schwarzenegger has been one of the biggest celebrities in the world for almost three decades. Hence the trailer's cinematic tag line: "This story you know. So are you ready for the story you don't?"
