Sofia Vergara Dishes: Who's the Funniest on 'Modern Family'?
After winning five awards and almost sweeping the comedy category at this year's Emmys, there's no denying "Modern Family" is one of the biggest shows on television right now.
While other shows have reports of offstage fights among cast members, "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara insists that isn't the case on the ABC hit.
"I don't think anyone has ever had a fight in the three seasons that we've been together," Vergara told Good Morning America's Lara Spencer. "We're always together. It's been amazing. The kids love each other. It's been like a dream. I get along with Julie, I love Julie."
At the Emmys on Sept. 23, Julie Bowen, who plays Claire on the ABC hit, won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, beating Vergara. It was Bowen's second Emmy win. During her acceptance speech, Bowen said, "Sofia, man, I know you're younger than me but I wanna be you when I grow up."
"I keep telling her. Why does she need two, give me one at least," Vergara told Spencer, laughing. "But she's amazing and she deserves it. I mean she's an important part of the show as we all are. So if she wins, it's like I win."
The hit comedy premiered its fourth season on Wednesday and one of the most shocking moments from the episode was the pregnancy of Vergara's character, Gloria. But when producers approached Vergara and Ed O'Neill, who plays her husband Jay, about the pregnancy as a way to spice things up, they didn't hesitate.
"We thought it was a great idea," Vergara said. "It's going to be hard, plus it's another baby that we have to deal with on the set, so we'll see what happens. "
When asked who her favorite cast member is, Vergara giggled and avoided the question, saying it was "too hard." But she didn't play coy for long.
"They're all so good, and yeah, I think it's me," she joked.
"I think it is you, actually," Spencer said.
"Yeah, it's me. I pick me," Vergara said.
During the Emmys' red carpet, fans voted for People magazine's "TV's Sexiest Woman." Not surprisingly, the "Modern Family" star won the title.
"People Magazine named you TV's sexiest woman, is that pressure?" Spencer asked Vergara.
"No, I agree with them," the star said with a laugh.
