Anderson Cooper, Star Jones in Coming-Out Spat
On his daytime talk show Thursday, Anderson Cooper said he's received a mostly-positive response to his coming out of the closet over the summer. But he said he wasn't happy with the way Star Jones reacted to the news.
Cooper recalled that Jones, making an appearance on NBC's "Today Show" the day after his announcement, suggested that it was a ploy on his part to boost ratings of his show.

Chatting with guest co-host Andy Cohen on Anderson Live, Cooper said Jones' comment annoyed him because "if I was wanting to boost ratings I would have waited to announce it on a very special episode, that would have been promotes for weeks and weeks and there would have been commercials, 'Anderson's huge announcement.'"
Cooper also pointed out that he didn't address the situation publicly after he revealed his sexual orientation in a letter to a Daily Beast blogger, who then posted it online.
He further implied that Jones' accusation was hypocritical.
"I seem to recall her hawking her wedding every single day to get free products when she was on "The View" and I seem to recall her lying about her gastric bypass surgery and making everybody else lie about it as well," he said.
Cooper said Jones has declined an invitation to appear on his show.
