The final “Twilight” film opens in two weeks. Will the franchise ever be revived one day? Probably not for the foreseeable future, although “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer won’t rule out the possibility.

At a news conference Thursday in Beverly Hills, Calif., Meyer said she has intention to write a new book in the series for now, but might change her mind in the future.

“I had planned out where it would go for a couple more books,” she said. “So I know exactly what would happen. … There are other characters that I think would have a lot of voice in those coming stories.”

Producer Wyck Godfrey, alluding to Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm this week for $4 billion and its plan to release a new “Star Wars” movie, joked, “We keep sending her the George Lucas press releases.”

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ opens Nov. 16.
