WNBA Star Wanted: Smashed Windows, Fired Shots Inside Ex-Girlfriend's Car
Former WNBA star Chamique Holdsclaw, 35, is accused of violently striking her ex-girlfriend's car with a baseball bat and firing a gun inside.
Atlanta police issued an arrest warrant for Holdsclaw on Tuesday after she allegedly followed WNBA player and former flame Jennifer Lacy, 29, from her workout to her friend's house.
Once Lacy arrived and pulled over, Holdsclaw allegedly got out of her car with a baseball bat and approached Lacy's Range Rover. She then proceeded to smash the driver's side window and the rear passenger window, before hoisting a pistol inside the car and firing, according to the police report.
Holdsclaw then fled the scene. Police recovered the 9 mm shell casing from inside Lacy's vehicle. Lacy was unharmed, police said.
Holdsclaw is a six-time WNBA All-Star, NCAA champion and gold medal Olympian.
She published her autobiography, "Breaking Through: Beating the Odds Shot After Shot," in March 2012. In the book, she discusses her battle with clinical depression and how it has affected her basketball career.
"Everything is a lesson learned. We all make decisions good and bad. As long as we grow from them that's all that matters. #lessonlearned," Holdsclaw posted on Twitter on Nov. 13.
