David Letterman to Discuss Sex Scandal with Oprah Winfrey
David Letterman is opening up to Oprah Winfrey on his sex scandal that made headlines in 2009.
The sit-down on "Oprah's Next Chapter," which is set to air Jan. 6 on OWN, reveals how the longtime late-night talk show host felt when he was being extorted and forced to reveal his past sexual affairs with "Late Show" staffers. He also reveals how he repaired his marriage to his wife, Regina Lasko, whom he had just married the year before.
A former CBS employee tried to extort $2 million from Letterman in exchange for keeping his affairs quiet.
Letterman and Winfrey weren't on good terms for years, but buried the hatchet when Winfrey made an appearance on his "Late Show" in 2005.
Winfrey recently sat down with Letterman at his alma mater, Ball State University in Indiana, as part of a lecture series he hosts there.
