Chris Brown crashed his Porsche into a wall while evading paparazzi on the eve of the Grammy awards, police in Beverly Hills said.
A representative for Brown, who is nominated at tonight's awards show for best urban contemporary album, said the R&B singer was on his way to a charity event when he was cut off by two vehicles.
"The occupants then jumped out with cameras and aggressively approached his vehicle," the singer's representative told ABC News.
Brown reportedly turned down an alley to evade the photographers, but was trapped by two other vehicles and ended up slamming into a wall.
The crash comes at the end of a difficult week for Brown.
On Wednesday, he appeared in court to face accusations that he violated his probation by submitting false community service records in connection with his sentence for assaulting Rihanna in 2009.
At the hearing Superior Court Judge James Brandlin asked for additional reports and set a new hearing date of April 5.
Mark Geragos, a lawyer for Brown, told KABC that Brown "didn't violate anything." Geragos said the L.A. County District Attorney's Office "should be ashamed of themselves [because] they besmirched the reputation of Chris Brown based on no evidence."

Brown, by prior agreement, has been completing his community service obligation in his home state of Virgina, but the L.A. County District Attorney claimed in legal documents, posted by the Los Angeles Times, that Brown may have faked his community service work and that documentation of his hours were, "at best sloppy, and at worst fraudulent reporting."
