TV personality Kelly Osbourne was taken to the hospital today after fainting during a taping of E! Network's "Fashion Police" in Los Angeles.

Osbourne, 28, was awake, alert and stable after the episode, and will spend the night in the hospital for observation as a precaution, her representative said in a statement.

Osbourne herself confirmed reports she had suffered a seizure in a tweet she posted late Thursday night.

"Thank U all 4 UR beautiful well wishes yes I did have a seizure they are just trying to figure out why," she wrote.

According to Entertainment Tonight's website, Osbourne had a seizure that lasted about 30 seconds and was helped by an emergency medical worker from the live studio audience, as well as the show's crew members.

The host of Fashion Police, comedian Joan Rivers, says she convinced Osbourne to go to the hospital.

"By the time she went to the hospital, she was fine," Rivers told photographers Thursday. "She didn't want to go. I think I was the one who convinced her, 'Just go, don't be stupid.'"

Kelly Osbourne is the daughter of heavy metal vocalist Ozzy Osbourne and talk show host Sharon Osbourne, and the sister of Jack Osbourne.

Last year, Jack Osbourne was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
