Hunky country singer Billy Currington was indicted April 24 on felony charges of making terroristic threats and abuse of an elderly person, according to court records.
The 39-year-old The “People Are Crazy” star allegedly screamed at a man named Charles Harvey Ferrelle who was passing by his property, doing a tour on his charter boat with two passengers April 15, according to a police report. Currington then allegedly got in his own boat with a camera and followed Ferrelle before cursing at and threatening him.
The next day Ferrelle, 70, told police he feared for his life, according to the police report, and was nervous to do his boat tour because he would have to go by Currington’s property again. Ferrelle did not know what provoked Currington to threaten him.
“If I hadn’t gotten into my slip fast enough I believe he (Currington) would have run me over,” he told police.
“harrassing artists often at their home by boat should be illegal. thas all i know,” Currington tweeted April 15.
Currington also thanked his fans for their support.
“hey guys, I wanted to thank everyone for the huge amount of support that I have received already. Unfortunately, I can’t comment on this,” he tweeted. “situation as this is an ongoing legal matter. It means a lot to me to have your support during this time.”
Currington’s bond was set at $27,000 and he was freed hours later.
