Wearing a red strapless gown, Melissa Gilbert exchanged wedding vows with "Thirtysomething" star Timothy Busfield in California Wednesday.

The "Dancing With the Stars" alum confirmed the news on Twitter today, posting a picture of herself and Busfield in a field surrounded by flowers and telling fans, "Thanks for all the well wishes."

Gilbert's rep told People magazine that the couple tied the knot "in a private ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara on April 24."

San Ysidro Ranch has been the site of many famous weddings. Gilbert pointed out on Twitter that "Lawrence Olivier and Vivian Leigh were married &John and Jackie Kennedy honeymooned there!!"

Shunning traditional wedding white, the "Little House on the Prairie" star went for the bold scarlet-tiered strapless gown instead. Busfield chose a dark suit.

Gilbert's choice of color may have been because this is not her first time at the altar. A mother of two, Gilbert, 48, was previously married to Bo Brinkman and Bruce Boxleitner.

Busfield, 55, was also married twice before, and has three children.

The pair have reportedly known each other for two decades, before becoming engaged over the Christmas holidays.
