Nicki Minaj Feuds with Ousted 'Idol' Contestant
Hell hath no fury like a judge scorned - just ask "American Idol" judge Nicki Minaj, who is in a war of words with ousted contestant Devin Velez.
Following Velez's remarks after his ouster last Thursday, Minaj has been taking the 18-year-old to task on Twitter.
"America r the 'potential' fans. U MUST win them over. 'Saves' are bulls*** and they know it. Those girls are just too good this year," she tweeted Friday, while defending the judges' less than unanimous decision not to "save" Velez after he received the fewest votes.
She then compared Velez to eliminated "Idol" hopeful Curtis Finch.
"Send the judges some flowers and a card. If Curtis didn't get SAVED, NONE of u get saved. Best male voice of the SEASON!!!!!!!!!!! #TruthTea," she wrote.

The beef started last Wednesday after Minaj slammed Velez, Lazaro Arbos and Burnell Taylor for their group performance of The Four Tops' song, "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)." After the guys fumbled the lyrics, Minaj ordered all three to leave the stage, saying, "I'm gonna act like I didn't see that or hear it."
During a conference call with reporters Friday, Velez fired back at the judge.
"I agree with the first half of her critique, when she said that it felt like it was Hollywood week, that it was a joke, that stuff like that should not happen, that she was going to pretend that she didn't hear it," he said. "When she went crazy-when she was like 'get off the stage, blah blah blah' and it's just like 'whoa Miss Minaj, I need you to calm down please.'"
"Like, we're still humans, we still have feelings. She doesn't care sometimes," Velez said, adding, "It's all good, we still love Nicki."
But then Velez went on to comment on Minaj's judging style. "She has multiple personalities … you never know what you're gonna get with Nicki Minaj," he snarked. "She could've been upset because the night before she was wearing the same color dress as Mariah, or she was on time, we never know."
Apparently, Minaj caught wind of Velez's comments, because she tweeted Friday, "Lol. Be mad @ AMERICA when u get sent home. The JUDGES are the ones who FOUGHT for America to get the opp to VOTE 4 U!!!"
She added, "Trust me BEW BEW. If EYE didn't want u in that TOP, YOU wldnt have been in that TOP. Fought for ALL of you. So just simply b gracious."
The outspoken judge concluded with, "Jennifer Hudson didn't win!!! Oscar Winner! #memba??? ok. Take that exposure and let your light shine."
