Gisele Bundchen Forgoes Photoshop: Imperfections Are Beautiful

Gisele Bundchen is arguably the pinnacle of feminine perfection, but the Brazilian bombshell says she is embracing her imperfections and wants all women to have the freedom to do the same.

The internationally famous supermodel, 32, shot her latest ad campaign for BLK DMN without any kind of makeup, professional hairdressing or the help of Photoshop, according to the fashion blog Fashionista.com.

"I feel like women should be really real and raw and it doesn't happen anymore [in fashion photographs]," she told Fashionista.com, crediting designer/photographer Johan Lindeberg for his unconventional approach. "I love that feeling of, you know, we are women, we are so different, our imperfections are what make us unique and beautiful. He gets that. He's not trying to retouch you or put a pretty light on you. He's not like 'you gotta look a certain way.' He's like, 'you are you' so now I'm gonna just be here with a camera, so express yourself how you like."

Bundchen poses in a series of 25 yet-to-be-released portraits, shot by Lindeberg, for DLK DNM's "Wild" campaign, in which she smiles sans makeup, barefoot and topless, according to WWD.

The photographer/designer told WWD at a May 22 private viewing of the " Gisele in BLK DNM" exhibition that he seeks to portray women as they are.

"I'm a massive feminist. I'm the one who thinks that women should take over completely. To portray women as who they are - I see it more like a documentary portrait. I'm anti-retouching and [anti-] plastic surgery. I think a woman is beautiful how she is," Lindeberg told the magazine.

That's easy when your subject is Bundchen, who was the world's highest-paid model last year, according to Forbes magazine. The 32-year-old bombshell and mom of two is married to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and earned an estimated $45 million in 2011.
