Kristen Bell Proposes to Dax Shepard After DOMA Struck Down
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have been engaged since 2009, but never tied the knot because, as Bell once said, "I don't feel appropriate taking advantage of a right that's denied to my [gay and lesbian] friends."
But after the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, which prohibited gay couples from marrying, she's had a change of heart.
".@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove," Bell wrote on Twitter. "You're damn right DOMA is unconstitutional!! #equalitymatters"
"DOMA is dead. Prop 8 is dead. Now let's bring my big, gay marriage to @IMKristenBell to Life!!!!" he responded.

Bell, 32, and Shepard, 38, may just now be planning their nuptials, but they took a big step in their relationship earlier this year, when they welcomed a daughter, Lincoln.

"[Motherhood is] actually better than I expected," the "Veronica Mars" star told Ellen DeGeneres recently. "It's pretty wonderful, yeah. It's a lot of fun."
