2013 Emmy Reactions: What The Nominees Have To Say
The 65th Primetime Emmy Award nominations are in and some of Hollywood's biggest stars, like Kerry Washington and Bryan Cranston, were honored this morning as a 2013 nominee.
"House of Cards" Makes History With Emmy Nomination
Naturally, those given the Emmy nod from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences were stoked about the possibility of taking home their craft's highest honor on Sept. 22.
In a statement to ABC News, "Modern Family's" Ty Burrell, who was nominated for Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, said he was "honored and humbly surprised that this good fortune continues."
Here's A Full List Of The Nominations for the 2013 Emmy Awards
"I've never had something so wonderful happen 4 years in a row before, other than winning the NY state lottery from 1993 to 97," he continued. "I share this with the entire cast and crew of "Modern Family." I'm sure it's not surprising to anyone who's ever worked on a television show, but our writers are the reason we're still in this position. I'm eternally grateful for their talent and surprising good looks."
"Scandal" star (and newlywed!) Kerry Washington also released a statement: "I am endlessly grateful to Shonda Rhimes and the entire cast and crew of SCANDAL. It is humbling to be nominated in the company of such extraordinarily talented and accomplished women and I am thankful to the Academy for this honor and privilege."
Alec Baldwin had this to say via statement: "It's days like this that make me miss "30 ROCK." Many thanks to everyone that nominated me."
Sigourney Weaver, who is nominated for her role in "Political Animals" also weighed in on the honor. "Such great news to wake up to. I am thrilled that 'Political Animals' is nominated for Outstanding Miniseries and that Greg Berlanti's compelling vision of Elaine Barrish Hammond and what women bring to the political process continues to be recognized. I am dancing on the table for Ellen Burstyn who rocked that role. And I am very touched and honored that my work as Elaine is nominated. It means so much to me. Thank you to the academy and thank you so much to USA who championed our show."
