Garth Brooks is a grandfather.

The country star's middle daughter, 19-year-old August Anna Brooks, gave birth to a baby girl named Karalynn earlier this week in Oklahoma, ABC News has confirmed.

According to August Anna Brooks' Facebook page, the father is her boyfriend since 2011, Chance Michael Russell. She has also posted pictures of the new baby on the Facebook page.

"Our family would first like to thank everyone for their warm wishes and sweet celebration of Baby K's arrival," the "Friends in Low Places" singer, 51, said in statement. "Our children's lives have always been extremely private and they have been endlessly encouraged to be their own people. We have always wanted them to be individuals and NOT be known as 'someone's daughters.'"

Brooks, who is married to fellow country star Trisha Yearwood, also thanked the media for respecting his daughters' privacy through the years.

"I now ask that respect to please continue as this young family begins the greatest days of their lives," he said.

Before giving birth to her baby, August studied sociology at the University of Oklahoma and worked as a filing clerk at a law firm. She graduated high school in 2012.
