Jay-Z's new album, "Magna Carta Holy Grail," doesn't drop until July 9 (July 4 for some Samsung users), but it's clear from new ads that it is filled with personal songs from the rapper.

In a new video, Jay-Z, 43, is seen talking to record producer Rick Rubin about "Jay-Z Blue," a track from the album about being a father to 16-month-old Blue Ivy, his daughter with Beyoncé.

"[She's] something that we both created," he said. "We still marvel at her."

But fatherhood is complicated for the producer-entrepreneur who grew up in a single-parent household.

"My pop left when I was young so … he didn't teach me how to be a man nor how to raise a child or treat a woman," he said "So, of course, my karma, the two things I need, I don't have, right, and I have a daughter. It's the paranoia of not being a great dad."

Jay-Z also touches on fatherhood in the song "Heaven," which he said "is toying with the idea of it being heaven or hell on earth."

"For me, my idea is, heaven is in your daughter's laughter," he said. "Hell could be if your child was missing for three minutes, you're in three minutes of hell."
