As a mother to six well-known children Kris Jenner has taken an interest in Amanda Bynes' downward spiral.

But with Bynes' recent involuntary psychiatric detention, Jenner, 57, thinks things are looking up for the former child actress. Bynes is currently undergoing a mental health evaluation.

"This is something that for me, as a mom, makes me very sad - but happy that she's getting, perhaps, the help that she needs, for one reason or another," Jenner said in a deleted scene last week on her talk show, "Kris."

Kardashian family friend and E! producer Ryan Seacrest joined Jenner on the show to talk about Bynes.

"I'm really glad that whatever's going on this would be the start of a new beginning for her," Jenner said.

Seacrest, 38, noted the comparisons to Britney Spears and her 2007 meltdown, pointing out how she turned things around.

"[Britney's] in a great place now," the "American Idol" host said. "Hopefully, the right people get to be around Amanda and get her on track as well."

Jenner's famous daughter, Kim Kardashian, 32, a new mother, has also taken an interest in Bynes.

"Kim loves Amanda, she's obsessed with her and really wants her to be fabulous and get well," Jenner said, miming that Bynes should give them a call.
