After cutting ties with her longtime agent last week, Paula Deen, 66, has hired a new legal team, one of the lead lawyers told ABC News.

It's been a rough few weeks for the Georgia native. After she admitted under oath to using a racial slur in the past, the Food Network, Wal-Mart, and QVC have all cut ties to the celebrity chef and author.

Deen has called on Grace Speights, managing partner for Morgan Lewis, one of the top labor and employment firms in the country, to represent her in the Lisa Jackson lawsuit. It was a deposition that Deen gave in the suit that led to the slur controversy.

A representative for Morgan Lewis did confirm that they have been retained to serve as lead counsel for the case.

Jackson is claiming she worked in an environment, co-owned by Deen, where racial slurs were commonplace.

Patricia Glaser, along with Savannah lawyer Harvey Weitz will also be on Deen's new legal team. Weitz will serve as local counsel.

A representative for Weitz confirmed his retention, while attempts to reach Patricia Glaser were not returned.

The Food Network was one of the first companies to cut ties with Deen in June, even after she made an apology begging for forgiveness in two online videos shortly after the her use of the "N word" went public.

"I want to apologize to everybody for the wrong that I've done," a teary Deen said in a short video posted online June 21.
