From the looks of the first full trailer of Lindsay Lohan's new film " The Canyons," art appears to be imitating life.

Lohan, 27, plays a troubled starlet whose life starts to unravel in Hollywood. Sound familiar?

"I guess I'd like to keep some parts of my life private," says Lohan's Tara in the one-minute-15-second trailer released today online.

"Nobody has a private life anymore," replies porn star James Deen, who plays Lohan's movie producer boyfriend.

The erotic thriller, largely funded by a Kickstarter campaign, is directed by Paul Schrader of "American Gigolo" and "Taxi Driver" fame and written by "American Psycho" author Bret Easton Ellis.

It hits a limited number of theaters and video on demand Aug. 2.
