Katy Perry recently joked that she and her on-again boyfriend John Mayer were doing "a lot of collaborating" - and turns out, she meant it literally.

In a new song called "Who You Love" from Mayer's new album, "Paradise Valley," the two sing lyrics that could be interpreted to be about their real-life romance and then Perry giggles flirtatiously at the end.

"My girl, she ain't the one that I saw coming /Sometimes I don't know which way to go/And I tried to run before but I'm not running anymore/Cuz I fought against it hard enough to know /That you love who you love who you love/You can't make yourself stop dreaming of who you're dreaming of/If it's who you love, then it's who you love," Mayer sings.

Perry's lines are similar in tone.

"My boy, he ain't the one that I saw coming/And some have said his heart's too hard to hold," she croons. "And he takes a little time but you should see him when he shines/Cuz you never want to let the feeling go."

John Mayer and Katy Perry's Ups and Downs

Perry, 28, and Mayer, 35, dated for several months before they split in March.

"I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him," she told Vogue shortly afterward. "Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds."

But by June, the couple had reconciled, and got cozy at an event where Mayer was set to perform in New York City.

"They were smooching and rubbing one another's backs," an insider told ABC News at the time. "And Katy had her arm around John at one point."
