Just a few weeks after Cory Monteith's death from mixed drug toxicity, a photo from one of his last movies, "McCanick," has been released. The film will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next month.

"The character he plays is this drug-addicted street hustler," director Josh C. Walker told Entertainment Weekly awhile ago. "He was wanting to tap into things from his youth - which he's been very open about publicly. I think he saw the role as an opportunity for catharsis."

Monteith, who was 31 when he died, struggled with addiction throughout his youth.

At one point, he told Parade magazine that he'd experimented with "anything and everything" and was "lucky to be alive." In April, he entered rehab.

""If I can, through my experience, shed light on the way out of a difficult situation I know many kids are experiencing, you know, just like I did when I was a teenager, I mean, that's huge," he once said.
