Usher Raymond V Out of Hospital, Back to Playing
Usher's 5-year-old son is out of the hospital and bouncing back from last week's poolside accident.
Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, 42, posted a picture on Instagram this weekend of son Usher Raymond V alongside a caption that read, "Woke up cheerful, happy and hungry. Watching Fresh Prince."
The boy was released from the hospital this weekend, according to Usher's rep.
Usher's Ex-Wife Posts Photo of Usher Raymond V Recovering
He was spotted by TMZ Monday while out with his grandmother, bandage on the right arm that got caught in the pool drain of his father's home in Atlanta last week. Usher Raymond V and grandma were leaving an indoor play center.
The outing came days after a judge dismissed Tameka Raymond's emergency custody motion Friday, which resulted in Usher's retaining custody of his son despite the near-drowning.
During the Aug. 5 incident, Usher's aunt Rena Oden and a housekeeper were unable to pull him from the pool drain. A man who had been working in the home intervened, pulled him out and resuscitated the child by using CPR.
Usher Retains Custody of Kids After Emergency Hearing
Tameka Raymond had alleged that Usher, 34, was away too much for touring and filming and was not fit to have custody. The judge disagreed.
"What happened here was an awful accident [but] I'm not certain that any single person … could have done a better job than [Usher's aunt and the kids' caretaker] Ms. [Rena] Oden," Judge John G. Goger ruled. "So I'm dismissing the motion."
