Most of Twitter may not have been excited last month when Ben Affleck was announced as the next Batman, even spawning a trending hashtag "Better Batman Than Ben Affleck."

But one person stood by his side - wife Jennifer Garner. In fact, Garner, 41, has up close and personal experience working with Affleck, 41, when he previously played a superhero in 2003's Daredevil.

Garner spoke with MTV News in Toronto, promoting her new movie "Dallas Buyer's Club," and said her husband has the chops it takes to bring the caped crusader back to the silver screen in the "Man of Steel" sequel.

"I was excited because he had a real take on what he wanted to do," she told MTV. "And you know, I have to say, my husband is a pretty great storyteller himself, and I'm excited to watch him do it."

Even though Garner added that daughter Violet, 7, may not be excited for her daddy's new role just yet, if and when Affleck starts to perfect Batman's raspy voice, his wife will be the first to hear.

"I hear every voice," she joked.
