5 Things to Know About Lauren Conrad's Fiance
Lauren Conrad's quiet courtship with William Tell may be about to change now that Tell has proposed to the reality star turned fashion designer and author.
Conrad broke the news of the engagement on her blog Sunday. "I am very excited to share with you guys that William and I got engaged over the weekend," she wrote, sharing a snapshot of her wearing a diamond ring.
"I am beyond thrilled!" Conrad added. "Get ready for lots more wedding content here on LaurenConrad.com as we begin the planning process."
Lauren Conrad Says Clubbing Destroyed Her Vocal Chords
While Conrad's dating life was famously chronicled on MTV's reality series "Laguna Beach" and its spinoff "The Hills," her courtship with Tell, 33, since February 2012 has been mostly low-key.
He may seem like a regular guy, but Tell is also no stranger to show business. Here are five thing to know about Conrad's fiance.
1. He's From the OC
Like Conrad, Tell hails from Orange County, Calif. "He is very good for me because we have a lot in common as far as where we grew up," she told Marie Claire in its July issue. "It's the first time I'm with someone and I'm not explaining things. He also has experience in the entertainment industry, so he understands a lot of things that people don't always get."
2. He's a Musician
That's right, Tell played guitar for pop punk band Something Corporate and even had a No. 11 hit single on the charts and toured with his band a few years ago.
3. He's in Law School Now
Tell is currently in law school at the University of Southern California.
4. Tell and Conrad Were Set Up
Talk about pressure: Conrad was set up with Tell by mutual friends, and their first date was Valentine's Day in 2012. But the New York Times best-selling author of the "L.A. Candy" series reportedly fell instantly for him.
5. He's Dated a Star Before
This isn't Tell's first brush with a famous partner. He previously dated "Hairspray" actress Brittany Snow as well as "The Bachelor" season 9 runner-up Sadie Murray. Murray, who dated Tell from 2009 to 2010, told Us Weekly last year, "He doesn't date just to date. He's either deeply in love or he's on to the next thing. . . He's the kind of guy you marry."
