Justin Timberlake, Rihanna and Florida Georgia Line are among the artists up for 2013 American Music Awards, and Kelly Clarkson and will.i.am. revealed the nominations live on "Good Morning America" today.

It was the first time that AMA nominees were announced on "GMA."

Clarkson and will.i.am unveiled the nominees in five AMA categories: favorite female artist, pop or rock; favorite male artist, soul/R&B; new artist of the year; single of the year and artist of the year.

The nominees in the remaining 17 awards categories will be announced later today during a news conference at B.B. King's Blues Club & Grill in Times Square.

Winners are determined by fan votes.

The American Music Awards will be presented Nov. 24, 2013, at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
