Theophilus London: Details on New 'Vibezz' Album

Theophilus London. Remember that name. The Trinidadian-born rapper (who grew up in Brooklyn) is a rising star in hip-hop music and the fashion industry. You'll be hearing a lot more from him in 2014.

Following the success of 2011's release Timez Are Weird These Days, fans eagerly await London's next album. And the "Vibezz ' details are starting to leak out.

In an interview for ABC News' AudioFile series, Theophilus London said, "The second album is the hardest to write. It's nothing like the first album." When beginning work on the new songs, London felt he needed to get out of New York for a while to expand his creativity. He explored the globe in search of new sounds and techniques. He worked with French producer Brodinski and his team on "Vibezz ." "Brodinski] brought to me the cool factor where hip hop meets club." Theophilus London describes the style of his second album as "electric, progressive, funk music."

London rented a house in Palm Springs, California, to serve as his studio while he finishes recording and mixing "Vibezz."

"I moved my studio to Palm Springs cause I don't like the idea of going to a studio every day like a job… I need to make a personal record, so I need to be in a house… I don't want to be in a studio where people can hear the music cause I don't know what it is yet."

The musician shares photos of his studio on his Instagram account, along with teaser video clips of new songs "Futurous," and "You Make Me Wanna Be Bad."

In past recordings, Theophilus London's music has showcased an eclectic mix of musical talent, such as Solange Knowles, Holly Miranda, Sara Quin ( Tegan and Sara) and Dave Sitek ( TV on the Radio). The big question is - which guest artists will appear on "Vibezz"?

In 2012, rumors of collaborations with Kanye West rippled across the Internet. Theophilus London shied away from those claims in our interview:

"Just to clarify that statement, we were working together. That doesn't mean that the song - if we did a song - that it's going to end up on the album."

They never really finished the music they worked on together, and with Kanye's busy year - new baby, new album - the pair may not get the chance to complete it this time around.

"I'll give him a call when the time comes. But we didn't finish anything."

"Vibezz" will be released by Warner Bros Records later this year or early 2014.
