When Naomi Watts set eyes on Liev Schreiber at the Met Costume Institute Gala in 2005, she knew she wanted to talk to him, but she wasn’t sure what to say. In the end, she told Allure magazine, she decided to be “a lot more ballsy than I would ever normally be.”
“He got up to say he was leaving, and I was like, ‘Oh, s–t.’ So I said something cheeky. ‘Don’t you want my digits?’” the actress, 45, told the magazine for its November issue. “It made him laugh.”
However, the attraction was mutual, and Schreiber, 46, with whom Watts now has two children, reached out to her immediately.
“He texted me, saying, ‘Would you like to go for a drink right now?’” she said. “I said, ‘No, I’ll meet you for breakfast tomorrow.’”
