LeAnn Rimes Feuds with Ex on Twitter

LeAnn Rimes got into a Twitter flap with her ex-husband Dean Sheremet after she failed to jump to his defense when a fan referred to him as a "gay dude."

It all started Sunday, when a Twitter follower with the handle Da Giggle Factory posted a flashback photo of the singer with the caption, "Remember the good old days when @leannrimes was just a chubby country bumpkin married to a gay dude?"

Rimes laughed it off with, "hahahaha I'm gonna choose to laugh at this."

But her ex, Dean Sheremet, didn't think it was funny.

"Laugh away-Who's the bully now?" he tweeted.

The New York City chef and TV presenter then followed with, "I don't do twitter wars, but I do hate ignorance. Being gay isn't offensive, not standing up for the truth is. @NOH*Campaign @Leannrimes"

That's when a Twitter follower named Michelle jumped in to defend Rimes, who is now married to actor Eddie Cibrian.

"@Deansheremet @NOH8Campaign @leannrimes who said it was offensive? Did you see the pic attached to the tweet? Nothing to do w dean," she replied to Sheremet.

Rimes then took the opportunity to clarify her comment.

"Exactly dear lord. I was laughing at myself," the country crooner wrote.

She also denied that her ex is gay and reiterated her strong support for the LGBT community.

"@shellipep @Deansheremet @NOH8Campaign no he's not gay and there's nothing wrong it. I have always & will always support the community," Rimes tweeted.
