LONDON -Prince performed two surprised gigs Tuesday night, one in a friend's home and then in Camden's famous music venue - The Electric ballroom.
The 55-year-old pop star first performed for an intimate crowd in the living room of his good friend and singer's home, Lianne La Havas.
La Havas' living room was used to showcase Prince's all female band 3RDEYEGIRL in front of close friends and press, playing two acoustic tracks including the newly released single "PretzelBodyLogic" according to the Associated Press.
After news breaking on Twitter from the account of Prince's manager, Kiran Sharma, fans quickly gathered in Camden ahead of the stars rumored gig. At midnight he appeared on stage in front of no more than 100 fans in which Prince said felt like more like "10,000."
Dressed in a fur jacket and large sunglasses, Prince and 3RDEYEGIRLplayed songs from their up and coming album "Plectrum Electrum," labeling his latest tunes as "funk 'n' rock 'n' roll."
One fan tweeted, "@IamaCameraUK 3h Can't believe I've just watched the Prince @3RDEYEGIRL rehearsal! Incredible. The best band in the world!"
Prince told the crowd that he "will be there tomorrow, a bit earlier and a lot funkier." He hopes to perform at iconic venues such as Ronnie Scott's jazz club where Jimi Hendrix played.
