For Miley Cyrus, the show had to go on - even after her beloved dog Floyd suddenly died on Tuesday while she was on tour.

When the 21-year-old took a moment during Wednesday night's concert in Boston to pay tribute to her Alaskan Klee Kai dog, she found herself getting emotional.

"It's gonna be hard for me on this next song. I'm not sounding myself, I don't feel myself. But I just wanna do one song," she told the crowd.

Miley Cyrus is 'Miserable' Over Death of her Dog Floyd

"I'm sure you guys already know, but the reason that I'm so upset is my dog - I shouldn't say he was my favorite but he was my favorite - he passed away," she continued. "I just wanna do a song for him. We used to always listen to Fleetwood Mac together. It's his favorite song. … So I wanna do this song for Floyd. This song is 'Landslide.'"

Midway through the song, Cyrus broke down, but continued through to the end and was met with a roaring applause from the audience.

The "Wrecking Ball" singer first announced her loss via Twitter.

"I am miserable," she tweeted. "I don't wanna say it because I don't want it to be real… But my precious baby Floyd has passed away … I am broken."

Next to a photo of her kissing the adorable blue-eyed dog, she added, "I know I don't mean it but I wish he would've taken me with him … this is unbearable. What am I gonna do without him?"

She even apologized in advance to Boston fans if she wasn't't herself during her "Bangerz" tour stop Wednesday night.

"I will try my best to be my best," she wrote.
