Fans got their first look at Alexandra Shipp playing the late R&B star Aaliyah in the upcoming Lifetime biopic.

The network posted a 16-second teaser for "Aaliyah: Princess of R&B" on its Facebook page Friday, along with the caption, "Legendary. Iconic. Talent is eternal and hers is a perfect example."

In the clip, Shipp, best known for her role in Nickelodeon's "House of Anubis," shows off some dance moves while dressed in the late R&B star's signature crop top and baggy pants.

Talk show host Wendy Williams, who is executive producing the TV movie, announced in July that Shipp, 23, was taking over the role after Zendaya Coleman dropped out.

In a series of videos on Instagram, Coleman, 18, explained that she had concerns about the production.

"The main reasons were the production value wasn't there, there were complications with the music rights, and I just felt like it wasn't being handled delicately considering the situation," Coleman said in one of the videos. "I tried my best to reach out to the family on my own and I wrote a letter, but, I was unable to do so. Therefore, I felt not really morally OK with moving forward with the project."

Aaliyah, who was once linked to R. Kelly, died in a 2001 plane crash at age 22 at the height of her popularity.

The Lifetime biopic is scheduled to premiere Nov. 15.
