Gwyneth Paltrow Lets Her Kids Take School Bus

Jimmy Kimmel Live

Gwyneth Paltrow sent her kids back to school recently-this time on the bus.

"Actually, this is their first year on the bus," the Goop founder revealed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Wednesday. "They take the bus and then I pick them up at the bus stop. It's pretty cute. They feel very independent."

Paltrow's children with ex Chris Martin-Apple Martin, 10, and Moses Martin, 8-had a great first day of school, according to their famous mom.

"It was great. They seemed really happy. They got off the bus. They were smiling. They had backpacks," she said.

And, unlike when she was growing up in California, the actress said, "They go to a real school."

Explained Paltrow, "This is a long time ago and now the school is a really good school and it's a very reputable school. I mean, it was great-I had fun. But I didn't learn anything. We used to meditate in the mornings, and then we had one teacher who was really into that song 'Sexual Healing' by Marvin Gaye, and she would play it-this is fifth grade! The meditation was every morning in fourth grade, but in fifth grade every morning, we came in to 'Sexual Healing' and we would dance and stuff."

The star went on to add, "We didn't really learn math or reading or anything. We had this awesome emotional movement class where our movement teacher would bang a tambourine and she would say, 'Every time I bang the tambourine, make a shape to express your feelings.' So we had a great time!"

The actress then joked, "Then I moved to New York City and went to a real school and was like a moron for two years!"
