1982 Wayne Williams Testifies

In Atlanta, murder suspect Wayne Williams took the stand and denied ever seeing two murder victims.  Williams was on trial for the murders of Jimmy Ray Payne and Nathaniel Cater, two young black men killed between 1979 and 1981 in a string of murders referred to as the "Atlanta Child Killings."   Williams was convicted of the murders and received two life sentences but insists he's innocent.

1987 Andy Warhol Dies

American pop artist Andy Warhol died of a heart attack in New York at age 58.
