We've all been to a wedding where young flower girls play starring roles, leaving the adults so nervous about what could possibly go wrong. During this particular ceremony there was a sudden hold up. One frightened little flower girl comes charging down the aisle in tears then moments later, without losing a bit of composure, some slightly older kids march with confidence to show us all how it's done.

The Smithsonian had the tough task of having to chose from nearly 38,000 spectacular images capturing travels from all over the world. A young boy in Albuquerque, New Mexico framed by a solar eclipse, rice paddies in Vietnam, and the Milky Way are among the entries in theannual photo competition.
