There is a mystery in the Mojave Desert tonight: What is causing an unprecedented desert bloom across Joshua Tree National Park? Despite drought conditions, millions of trees are flowering and scientists are stumped. One theory is that last summer’s monsoon rains and this year’s cold weather are the culprits.

Shark on the Line
A fisherman off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii, hooked a tuna, but not before a 9-foot-long shark decided it wanted the catch. The shark lunged at the fish and the fisherman tried to reel it in. Eventually the shark won the battle by dragging the tuna down below.
