Smartphones Bad for Parents, Study Finds Boston Medical Center released the results of an undercover investigation in which they observed parents absorbed in their smartphones while they're with their kids. The more absorbed in their phones they were, the more likely mom and dad were to react harshly when their child acted out.

Elephants Can Distinguish Between Human Voices Wild African elephants can distinguish between men's and women's voices as well as different ethnic groups. For instance, an elephant can tell the different between two tribes in Africa. Researchers say the elephants likely developed this ability as a survival tactic and are remarkably accurate.
