UCLA Game Has Streaker, Bench-Clearing Brawl

Oct 21, 2011 12:22pm

There were just four seconds left until halftime in the Arizona-UCLA football game and then all hell broke loose. A streaker dressed as a referee tried to grab the ball from a real official and then stripped as he ran across the field.

As security tried to corral the rogue ref,  a fight erupted between the two teams Thursday, clearing the benches and resulting in the ejection of two players, although dozens were involved in the melee.

Going into the half Arizona was leading 42-7 and UCLA’s frustration was running high. The streaker, who security eventually detained, provided enough of a distraction to enable the brawl to take place.

Arizona defensive back Shaquille Richardson and UCLA receiver Taylor Embree were ejected for starting the fight. Arizona won the game 48-12.
