Press Credential Guidelines for ABC News Republican Presidential Candidate Debate in Iowa 

Debate to be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 in Des Moines, IA

ABC News and the Republican Party of Iowa are currently accepting requests for press credentials for the December 10, 2011 Republican debate sponsored by ABC News, WOI-TV, The Des Moines Register and the Republican Party of Iowa. The debate will take place at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and will be broadcast in primetime on national television starting 9:00 p.m., ET/PT on the ABC Television Network.

Credentials: Journalists interested in obtaining a press credential for the press filing center should fill out the request form here.  If you are interested in reserving space for a stand up location in the spin room, a stand up location outside, and/or parking for a satellite truck, please note that as well.  For additional questions or issues about credentialing see contact info below. Media will be required to present photo identification and a company ID upon check-in at the press filing center.

Please note the credential will NOT grant access to the debate hall.

NOTE: The deadline for submitting a press credential request is Tuesday, December 6, 2011.

Still Photography Inside the Debate Hall:  ABC News will provide complete photo coverage of the debate. There will be an opportunity for a tight pool of photographers, chosen by ABC News and the debate sponsors, to photograph the candidates at some point in the program. Photographers interested in obtaining a press credential must fill out the request form here indicating they are requesting inclusion in the photo pool.

NOTE: A press credential request does NOT guarantee a place in the photo pool.

Wifi Service: ABC News will provide free wireless internet access in the press filing center and the Spin Room.

Hard Phone Line: If you are a radio reporter who needs a hard phone line, please indicate that on the request form and one will be provided at cost.

Press Filing Center: The press filing center will be located in the Knapp Center on Drake University’s campus and will be open to journalists beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 10.  Please note that there will be monitors in the filing center for debate viewing.
