ABC News Viewers Helped 1.6 Million Americans Get the Meals They Need During “Hunger at Home” Launch on August 24

ABC News continues its reporting on the growing number of families in the United States who go hungry with two days of reports on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25 for its division-wide series “Hunger at Home: Crisis in America.”

One out of every six Americans had trouble coming up with enough money to buy food at some point last year and one out of five children are living in “food insecure” households. “ABC World News” weekend anchor David Muir and “Nightline” correspondent Juju Chang will report on the realities of what life is like for these American families who cannot afford a meal during the holiday season. The reports will also shine a spotlight on the creative ways that some extraordinary Americans are working to help people in their communities. Reports will appear on broadcasts including “Good Morning America” and “World News with Diane Sawyer” as well as on ABC News Radio and ABCNews.com.
