“The Year With Katie Couric”
Airing Thursday, December 15, 9-11pm
From political and economic revolutions and the death of a terrorist, to a 72 day celebrity marriage and a royal wedding for the ages, 2011 has been an eventful year. Anchored by Katie Couric, ABC News and People collaborate on an unprecedented two-hour primetime broadcast special, with details on these and all the other big stories of the past year: from the everyday heroes who inspired a nation, to the public figures who fell from grace; from the fresh faces who had breakthrough years in entertainment, to the icons who said goodbye after years of success. Couric’s reports will cover everything from fashion to law, and include interviews with newsmakers, celebrities and other guests who have a uniquely humorous take on the past year’s top stories. “The Year With Katie Couric” airs Thursday, December 15, (9:00 – 11:00 pm ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Just want to let you know I love ABC and watch it religiously from GMA to some evening shows.. I’m a fan with news, Diane, etc.. However I’m watching the Couric special this evening and embarrassed for her. Is she actually asking Chelsea Handler for an opinion? Is this even valid for an opinion? She interviews no one so what is the point of featuring Katie. At least as distasteful as the choices that Walters made for her interviews, she at least interviewed the people. I didn’t watch it as Barbara is so shallow…and insignificant. Her last great interview was with Sadat. What happened to the cofounder of Apple in terms of interesting people? Top donors of the year for Haiti or Japan, people that really made a difference? The media is sinking us making us watch (which I did not) Kardashians. Our brains are really bigger and wanting something substantial. Please help us and get rid of this crap. Now I am hearing about the DNA of JLO? What is going on in this country? You want ratings? You should hire me… These interviews are a disgrace to our intelligence. Please stop this!!

Watched the special, have two issues, one…when she describes the use of pepper spray by police she says “police subduing students”…the students were sitting on the ground with arms connected, there was nothing to subdue.
two…she describes the OWS movement as no real goals or direction, and will it survive, is she kidding.
