Smashing Christmas: Vandals Batter Holiday Decor
While elaborate lighting displays are making the season extra merry for delighted onlookers, not everyone is in the holiday spirit: three Christmas displays in different places in the country have been trashed by vandals this month.
- Grinches tossed the baby Jesus from a nativity scene onto a homeowner's driveway and battered other decorations in a subdivision in Milton, Ga.
- In Port Charlotte, Fla., someone knocked over a lighting display in the shape of a Christmas tree and wreaked other havoc in a couple's front yard.
- And at a Fairfax Station, Va. home, surveillance cameras captured footage of two young men using baseball bats and their car to destroy holiday decor, causing at least an estimated $6,000 in damages.
