Season-to-Date, “ABC World News” Narrows Viewing Gaps with NBC by Double Digits – Marking Smallest Margins in 3 Years

For the week of February 6, 2012, “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” averaged 7.97 million Total Viewers and a 1.8 rating/6 share/2.12 million in Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research.   “World News” grew its news demo audience week-to-week by +2% (2.09 million on w/o 1/30/12).

“World News” has cut its season-to-date gaps with “NBC Nightly News” by double-digits in both Total Viewers (-12%) and Adults 25-54 (-20%), posting its smallest Total Viewer (1.03 million) and news demo margins (358,000) with the NBC program in 3 years – since the 2008-09 season.

“ABC World News” outperformed the “CBS Evening News” by 1.37 million Total Viewers and 177,000 Adults 25-54, delivering its strongest news demo lead over the CBS program in 6 weeks – since w/o 12/26/11.

“ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” airs at 6:30 p.m., (ET) on the ABC Television Network.  Michael Corn is the executive producer of the broadcast.

So does ABC get its “news” from Media Matters just like MSNBC does?? Is this why another station who is “fair and balanced” dominates the news now??? Did it work when Media Matters hired private investigators to dig up dirt on FOX employees?? You must be so proud Diane!!
