28 Million People Visited Go od Morning America's Companion Site Versus Today.com's 13 Million - That is 115% More Unique Users

According to a comScore report released Tuesday, the new leader in online news streamed more than 410 million videos in February and beat the closest competition MSNBC by 163% and CNN by 282%.   More than half of the 814 million online news and information videos streamed last month came from the Yahoo!-ABC News network  - the clear leader in original and on-demand video content.

Online video streaming has grown exponentially in the past two years and is an increasingly coveted advertising platform.  The Pew Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism projected online video ad growth to jump 54% in 2012 and 34% in 2013.  Online video consumption in the U.S. increased 45% in 2011 compared to 2010 and 92% of adults ages 18-29 watched online video in 2011 according to Pew.

"ABC News is in a unique position.  Through our tremendous partnership with Yahoo! we are able to provide an unmatched news experience for our users.  As a result we are one of the few players who can deliver massive audiences and premium video experiences both on-air and online to advertisers," said Joe Ruffolo, Senior Vice President, ABC News Digital.

"There's no question that Yahoo! News' alliance with ABC News has been a success these past five months," said Rob Barrett, Yahoo! VP of News & Finance. "The combination of Yahoo! News and ABC News' talented team of voices within live event coverage and original online programming has been a key asset in providing our massive audience with the informative and relevant news coverage they want."

Since the companies' October alliance, a slate of original video series have brought one-of-a-kind programming featuring ABC News' unrivaled lineup of trusted anchors and reporters to Yahoo!'s unmatched online audience.  Since their launch the original digital series "Around the World with Christiane Amanpour," "This Could be Big" with Bill Weir and the "Newsmakers" interview series have grown 107%.  In December ABC News and Yahoo! News launched a political news series, "Power Players," featuring ABC News' and Yahoo!'s award-winning political team.  Additional series from ABC News and Yahoo! News are currently in development and will launch in 2012.

Yahoo! also recently announced the launch of ' Remake America,' a new weekly video series that follows the lives of six real families as they strive to get back on track towards achieving "the American dream." As the latest project in Yahoo!'s original programming slate, 'Remake America' is an element of Yahoo! News' efforts to put citizens at the forefront of elections coverage by following the personal stories of real Americans throughout the year and enabling citizens to propose solutions to the challenges and opportunities facing our nation through social channels and tools. The Yahoo!-ABC News Network is also the undisputed leader in unique users and page views.  More than 89 million people visited content on the network's various properties including Yahoo! News, Finance and Entertainment as well as ABCNews.com, OTUSNews.com and Goodmorningamerica.com in February - that is 30 million more than the CNN network the closest competition.

GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo! has quickly become the leading morning news show website just as "Good Morning America" announced the smallest weekly total viewer gap with "Today" in five years.  Last week's comScore report revealed that 28 million viewers visited the five month old site versus Today.com which had an online audience of 13 million.  Twice as many people made Goodmorningamerica.com their online destination for around-the-clock news and robust video beating out all of the competition.
