"GMA's" Weekly Total Viewing Margin only 35,000 with NBC's "Today"

"GMA" Increases the Most Week-to-Week and Year-to-Year in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54

" GMA" Continues to Grow Year-to-Year and Season-to-Date in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 While "Today" Declines

"Good Morning America" drew 4.806 million Total Viewers and a 1.5 rating/11 share/1.769 million Adults 25-54 for the week of June 11, 2012, according to Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" ran neck-and-neck with NBC's "Today" (4.841 million) during the week, behind by only 35,000 viewers. Additionally, Goodmorningamerica.com has expanded its lead and in April, had 17 million more unique users than Today.com.

"GMA" improved the most week-to-week among the network morning newscasts in both Total Viewers (+7% - 4.806 million vs. 4.474 million) and in Adults 25-54 (+3% - 1.769 million vs. 1.717 million), compared to NBC's "Today" (+1%/+1%) and "CBS This Morning" (less than +1%/-1%).

"GMA" was also up the most year-to-year (4.527 million and 1.637 million, respectively, on w/o 6/13/11) in Total Viewers (+6%) and in Adults 25-54 (+8%), versus NBC's "Today" (-6%/-8%) and "CBS This Morning" (+1%/-1%).

"GMA" decreased its gaps with "Today" from the previous week by -89% in Total Viewers (35,000 vs. 332,000) and by -8% in Adults 25-54 (274,000 vs. 298,000).

Year-to-year, "GMA" slashed nearly all of its Total Viewer margin with NBC's "Today" in Total Viewers (-94% - 35,000 vs. 626,000), while cutting its Adults 25-54 margin by more than half (-58% - 274,000 vs. 660,000) . "GMA" has cut its year-to-year demo gap with the NBC morning newscast by double-digits for 24 weeks in a row, and in 38 of 39 weeks this season.

"GMA" ranked No. 1 on 2 of 5 days of the week in Total Viewers, outdrawing NBC's "Today," by +463,000 on Tuesday (5.092 million vs. 4.629 million) and by +197,000 on Thursday (4.827 million vs. 4.630 million). In addition, "GMA" ranked as No. 1 morning newscast in Adults 25-54 on Tuesday, beating "Today" by +114,000 (1.960 million vs. 1.846 million).

Season to date, "GMA" has cut its gaps versus "Today" in half in both Total Viewers (-53%) and Adults 25-54 (-48%) versus its year-ago season gaps. In fact, "GMA" is posting its smallest Total Viewer (382,000) and Adults 25-54 (384,000) margins with "Today" in 16 years - since the 1995-96 Season.

Season to date "GMA" is the only morning program to grow in Total Viewers (+4%) and Adults 25-54 (+7%) versus its year-ago averages (NBC's "Today:" -4%/-9%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning:" -8%/-9%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in 6 years, since 2005-06.

For the 5th consecutive week, "GMA" outperformed "CBS This Morning" by triple-digits margins in both Total Viewers (+115% - 4.806 million vs. 2.233 million) and Adults 25-54 (+112% - 1.769 million vs. 835,000).
