'Tanning Mom' Shown Before the Tan in Old Modeling Photos
It's hard to imagine Patricia Krentcil before she was famous - that is, before she became famous as the "Tanning Mom," an extreme tanner who allegedly allowed her 5-year-old daughter to get a fake tan.
Newly unearthed pictures show Krentcil in her modeling days back in her twenties, looking decidedly unlike her current ultra-tan self.
Krentcil made headlines when she was arrested for bringing her 5-year-old daughter into a tanning booth with her. The 44-year-old New Jersey native pleaded not guilty and is out on bail, while her daughter is in her father's custody. The case has been sent to the New Jersey grand jury.
Doctors weighed in on ABC News, saying Krentcil might suffer from "tanerexia," an unhealthy addiction to tanning.
The recently discovered glamour shots show she might not have always been that way, although Krentcil told ABC News she's been tanning for a long time.
"I'm very tan," she said, "and I've been tanning my whole life."
