"This Week" Ranks as the No. 2 Public Affairs Program on Sunday

On July 1, 2012, ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" drew 2.541 million Total Viewers and 783,000 Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research. Growing over the prior week (2.231 million and 741,000, respectively on 6/24/12) for the 2nd week in a row to hit 3-week highs in both Total Viewers (+14%) and Adults 25-54 (+6%), "This Week" delivered its 2nd-strongest performance in both measures since April - since 4/22/12 and 4/15/12, respectively.

For the 2nd week in a row, "This Week" improved on the year-ago Sunday (2.164 million and 762,000, respectively on 7/3/11) in both Total Viewers (+17%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%). In fact, "This Week" has built on its year-ago telecast in Total Viewers for the 5th consecutive week.

"This Week" ranked as the No. 2 public affairs program on Sunday topping CBS' "Face the Nation" in both Total Viewers (+47,000 - 2.541 million vs. 2.494 million) and Adults 25-54 (+135,000 - 783,000 vs. 648,000). In fact, it was the first time this season that "This Week" outdrew "Face the Nation" in Total Viewers. In addition, it was the 4th time in the last 5 week for "This Week" to beat the CBS program in Adults 25-54, scoring its largest demo margin over "Face the Nation" in 1 year - since 7/3/11.
