ABC News Docu-series Builds Audience Throughout the Hour While CBS and NBC Declined

"NY Med" Delivers Second Largest Wednesday Audience for ABC at 10PM This Summer

The final installment of ABC's "NY Med" delivered 4.41 million Total Viewers, 1.77 million Adults 25-54 and 1.32 Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research.

At 10 o'clock, Part 2 of the season finale of ABC's "NY Med" grew over Tuesday's Part 1 by 7% in Total Viewers and by 7% in the key Adult 25-54 news demo, marking the ABC News docu-series' best performance in 5 weeks - since 7/17/12.

Similar to Part 1, Part 2 of the NY Med finale built its overall audience from its first half-hour to its second half-hour (+5%), while both CBS (-2%) and NBC (-8%) lost viewers within the 10pm hour.

Improving its slot week-to-week by 5% in Total Viewers, "NY Med" scored ABC's second-biggest audience in Wednesday's 10 o'clock hour this summer.

For a full year ABC News cameras had unprecedented access to document the mayhem and the miracles that occur daily inside the walls of Columbia and Weill Cornell Medical Centers, the crown jewels of the prestigious New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City for an eight-part series " NY Med." Lutheran Medical Center also participated, adding a Brooklyn dimension to the series. The eight-part series takes a candid look at how cutting edge medicine often makes the difference, although even the best surgeons can find themselves flirting with disaster.
