"GMA" is #1 for the Week of December 3rd

"GMA" Continues to Grow Year-to-Year and Season-to-Date Among Adults 25-54 and Total Viewers While "Today" Declines by Double-Digits

Season-to-Date, "GMA" Leads "Today" by Largest Overall Viewer and Demo Margins in More Than 20 Years

ABC's "Good Morning America" finished as the No. 1 morning program in both Total Viewers (5.017 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.893 million) for the week of December 3, 2012, according to Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" led NBC's "Today" (4.683 million and 1.883 million) by +334,000 overall viewers and by +10,000 Adults 25-54, ranking No. 1 in all 10 weeks this season in overall viewers and in 9 of 10 weeks in the key adult news demo.*

Compared to the year-ago week (w/o 12/5/11 - 4.868 million and 1.864 million, respectively) " GMA" grew in both Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 25-54 (+2%). In fact, the ABC morning newscast has seen increases over the same week last year in 10 of 10 weeks this season in Total Viewers and in 9 of 10 weeks in Adults 25-54. Further, "GMA" was the only morning program to improve year to year in either demo as both "CBS This Morning" (-10%/-13%) and NBC's "Today Show" (-17%/-23%) each turned in double-digit losses.

"GMA" aired the week's most-watched morning telecast on Friday (5.316 million on 12/7/12) .

Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" is leading "Today" by its largest season margin in overall viewers (+527,000) in more than 21 years and in the key adult news demo (+110,000) in 21 years - since at least the 1991-92 season and the 1991-92 season, respectively; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Season to date "GMA" is up in both Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%) versus its year-ago averages, growing the most year to year in Total Viewers and standing as the only morning newscast to grow in the key adult news demo (NBC's "Today" is down -16%/-23%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning" is mixed +4%/-4%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in 7 years and best Adult 25-54 performance in 5 years - since the 2005-06 and 2007-08 seasons, respectively.

"GMA" more than doubled the performance of "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+102%) and nearly doubled it in Adults 25-54 (+99%) .
