"GMA" Outperforms NBC's "Today" by 501,000 Total Viewers for the Week of January 14

"GMA" Continues to Grow Year-to-Year and Season-to-Date in Total Viewers While "Today" Declines by Double-Digits

Season-to-Date, "GMA" Leads "Today" by Largest Overall Viewer and Demo Margins in 21 Years

ABC News' "Good Morning America" drew 5.242 million Total Viewers and a 1.7 rating/12 share/ 1.982 million Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research for the week of January 14, 2013. "GMA" outdelivered NBC's "Today" (4.741 million) by+ 501,000 Total Viewers to rank No. 1 for the 16th time in 16 weeks this season.

Growing over the previous week (5.010 million and 1.936 million on w/o 1/7/13) in Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 25-54 (+2%) for the 3rd week in a row, "GMA" delivered its strongest performance since November in both Nielsen measures - since w/o 11/26/12 and w/o 11/12/12, respectively.

"GMA" saw gains versus the year-ago week (4.910 million and 1.920 million, respectively on w/o 1/16/12) in Total Viewers (+7%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%). "GMA" stood as the only morning newscast to improve year to year in both measures, as "CBS This Morning" was mixed (+6%/-5%), while NBC's "Today Show" (-14%/-18%) saw double-digit losses.

Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" is leading "Today" by its largest season margin in overall viewers (+505,000) in more than 21 years and in the key adult news demo (+73,000) in 21 years - since at least the 1991-92 season and since the 1991-92 season, respectively; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Season to date "GMA" is up in both Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 25-54 (+1%) versus its year-ago averages, standing as the only morning newscast to grow in the key adult news demo (NBC's "Today" is down -15%/-22%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning" is mixed +5%/-2%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in 7 years and best Adult 25-54 performance in 4 years - since the 2005-06 and 2008-09 seasons, respectively.

For the week, "GMA" nearly doubled the performance of "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+91%) and Adults 25-54 (+89%), turning in its largest leads (2.496 million and 932,000, respectively) over the CBS program in 6 weeks - since w/o 12/3/12 .
